He grunted.
You shoved.
He elbowed.
You swore.
He reached for the beef strips on the sizzling plate.
You snatched a couple away with your chopsticks.
“Why the hell do you keep stealing my food!?”
“Why the fuck do you keep hogging the elbow room!?”
“Tsk. You’re being childish.”
“Ugh. You’re being selfish.”
“I can’t—” A barely stifled laugh. You both turned to the source.
From across the table, Takao clutched his face in a failed attempt to hide his amusement.
“Goddammit, you guys. Your back-and-forths are so adorable.”
The bespectacled boy beside you choked on his food and turned away.
Your face was a ripe strawberry and the ice cubes in your glass suddenly became interesting.
“Y’know what, [First], you could just sit beside me if Shin-chan’s bothering you that much.”
Said green-haired teen’s shoulders visibly stiffened.
You bit your lip to contain your disappointment, and shuffled to get up.
“…or you could just switch seats.”
Oh.
Oh, right.
Midorima was left-handed.
You weren’t.
He was seated on the right side of the table.
You sat on the opposite.
Immediately you returned to being redder than his middle school basketball team captain’s hair, this time out of sheer embarrassment. You totally forgot. You kinda liked the physical contact, despite the bruises it was sure to leave.
He turned to you the tiniest bit, and something flashed in his jade orbs. You could’ve sworn it was relief. And affection.
Really?
Confusion and curiosity pooled together into an ocean of possibilities. And you were struggling to swim.
“How long are you two going to stare at each other like that?” Takao’s annoyingly sing-songy voice cooed.
Reality slammed into you and you simultaneously broke the eye contact.
Hawk-eyes didn’t hold his laughter back this time. He was wiping tears away. “I’d gladly third-wheel on any of your dates. Watching you—God, much better than those sappy excuses for rom-coms on TV.”
“…”
“…”
“I’m going to murder you.”
“For once, I agree with four-eyes here.”
“…”
“…okay, okay. Sorry.”
He scoffed.
You rolled your eyes.
You both tried to hide your small smiles.
“I seriously need to get this on camera—”
You both leaned forward and flicked his forehead.

A Language With No Lies. | Midorima x Reader
Folded arms; defensiveness, reluctance.
The cafeteria was a mixture of emotions; there were loud shouts of frustration, sounds of gossip, and soft whispers that floated around.
At a glance, you looked relaxed. You donned a neutral expression, and there was no sign of furrowed eyebrows or weary sighs.
It would take a closer look by the observer sitting right opposite you to figure out that you were not even the slightest bit relaxed. There might not have been any indication on your face, but the rest of your body language certainly helped in giving clues.
You sat straight, your muscles tensed and fingers tightly clenching your phone.

Midorima X Reader [Happy Easter]
He couldn't believe it. There was simply no possible way that this was real. It just wasn't! A mistake, yeah, it must have been a mistake.
But the horoscope has never made a mistake yet, so why would this be different?
He liked to think it was a joke, but fate wasn't that generous.
"Pfft! What the hell is that!?"
"Shut up, _____! It’s today’s item... unfortunately." The male's face turned brilliant crimson as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking away from your admiring eyes with a scowl.
"Aw, I think you look cute, Mido-kun~" you cooed as you pinched his cheek playfully. He quickly slapped your hand away, scoffing and

Can't Let Go || Midorima Shintaro
[Midorima x reader]
For the last couple of weeks, you’d felt as if you had been walking in the wrong direction. You mind was a mess, your legs felt weak—without a purpose. Your stomach was a knot, your chest held a frozen heart.
You missed him so, so much your whole being ached. Sometimes, even breathing was hard and you would find yourself gasping for air. Your lungs would fill then, but you still felt empty.
Something had been taken from you, a part of your soul which was as important as necessary to carry on.
Upon looking into a mirror, you barely recognized your own reflection. Eyes drained of lig
